Colorado - Monday

Monday, our first full day in Colorado. We weren't going to just sit around on our laurels adjusting to the altitude (not if Dale had anything to do with it anyway :o). So after a lazy morning we all piled in the car and headed up to Crested Butte for a day of fun on the mountain. What a great way to kick off the week!

Dale & Susan had a big pile of gravel out front for a project and Sam enjoyed climbing around on it and generally getting dirty :o)

We had to walk up a little ways to get to the main area so Papa & Meme needed a short break. Pretty cool seating up there, that background was made of skis

Uncle Dale decided Sam needed to try the bungee jumping thing. We thought for sure Sam would chicken out, but boy did he prove us wrong! SO PROUD!!

The kid started him with kind of small bounces and then as he got comfortable went for the big jumps :o)

After a couple of jumps this high he got real nervous, but we encouraged him to keep going.
He did and ended up LOVING it!

Next, we took a ride on the ski lift to the top of the mountain. Momma has a little issue with heights so I had to kind of not look down too much. It was so worth it when we got to the top!!

Headed back down

After we got off the mountain, we stopped in the actual town of Crested Butte for lunch

Sam found some chairs he thought he and Isabella needed :o)

At lunch, Sam decided he wanted to try and be a photographer. Momma helped, but he did pretty darn good!

Aunt Susan and Sam became really good buddies!

Dale & Susan took us on a different (& nerve wracking) route back to the cabin with some great views

Somehow these are out of order because this is back in Crested Butte, but anywho..

These two couldn't deny being related if they wanted to!

When we stopped on the way back Dale did a little Geocaching. Google it.

There were hummingbirds everywhere at the cabin! There are more pics of them you'll see in later posts, but I thought this one turned out really cool
