Colorado - Tuesday

On Tuesday, we didn't have anything really planned so we thought we'd drive into Gunnison and check out this train we'd seen on the way to Dale & Susan's cabin. Turned out it was a pioneer museum, and a rather huge one at that! They had, like, 15 buildings plus the train. Pretty darn cool, I just wish I had felt better that day, but you can't win 'em all I guess.

Sam & Momma checking out the train cars. They had it set up so you could walk through most of them. Very cool, especially to a 3 year old who can't get enough of trains!

They also had a big water tower/refill station for the train. All of this stuff was actual working stuff at one point before it was moved to the museum

We realized after we got home and looked at our pictures that the train at the museum actually ran on the Royal Gorge railroad which we rode on Saturday on the way home. Pretty cool!

Sam checking out the caboose

They had these seats in the caboose that you had to climb a little ladder to get to.
It's where the engineers rode.

That's not a church, it's an old school house that was designed by an East Coast architect.

Of course, Sam had to drive the old Johnny Tractors :o)

Sam thought this part was REALLY cool, it's where they would have kept the coal :o)

That's all for Tuesday, stay tuned for Wednesday!
