Happy Halloween!

It's apparently the week for me to set a personal record for updating Sam's blog! Twice in one week, can you STAND it?! Anywho, I thought I'd take the opportunity to post just a few of the copious amount of pictures I took over the month of October at all the various Halloween activities. Despite everything you see here, there were 2 other trick or treating events that did NOT make it to the blog. Simply due to lack of pictures. That would be when Sam went trick or treating at MSU and at KSPR/KY3. Neither time did I take any pictures. Oh well!

Now for a quick Sam update before the picture extravaganza.. two pieces of BIG NEWS... Sam no longer uses his paci except a nightnight time and sometimes at nap. Most of the time he is going without all day long! YAY!!! This is thanks in large part to his new school where they heavily discourage his use of it. We are SO on board with that! Yet another reason to love that place! Also, Sam is now officially in a "big boy bed". Well, I guess it's still really just his crib, but we converted it on Sunday with no objections from Sam & he's done really well. We've only had two small issues, nothing major. First, he fell out of it on Sunday night, but luckily the drop to the floor is VERY short so no damage done just a small minute of crying and he was all good. Then, last night he woke up crying and when I went to check on him he was standing up behind the door. I'm not really sure what happened there. He was obviously confused. But overall he's doing really well with the switch! He's talking more and more and comes out with the funniest things sometimes! Last night he told me his finger hurt and showed me his right pointer finger. I looked it over and didn't see anything wrong so I gave it a quick kiss and asked him if that helped. He said "No. Take it off." So I said "You want to take your finger off??" He says "Yeah. Take it off. Get a new one." then he makes this motion like he's taking his finger off, putting it on the shelf, grabbing something off the shelf & putting it on his hand and says "There. All better." Needless to say I had to laugh :o) He's a character!

Sam had to help daddy "fix" his bed :o)

He was VERY happy!

Look how BIG he's getting!!

Now for the Halloween extravaganza!

We got Sam a couple of little pumpkins to paint this year and just let him go crazy.
He was having so much fun :o)

You have to get the stem too, otherwise it's just not right

He may have painted himself a little too :o)

It was EVERYWHERE!

Even in his hair :o)

The first trick or treating event was a trunk or treat at Sam's school.

Isn't my Spiderman the cutest?

This picture just makes me laugh. Look at how he's standing, LOL!

When we went to leave, neighbor Steve was outside so he brought Sammy a little present he picked up for him. Sam LOVES neighbor Steve!

Dr. Spidey

We finally made it to Sam's school & what do you know? They had pumpkin painting too!

Sam & Daddy on the hay. This is the best picture I could get. Sam was distracted

Then Sam took us on a tour of his classroom

Papa & Meme got in the party spirit :o)

Then it was on to decorating a Halloween bag

Then it was time for candy and man was Sam EXCITED!

He wanted to eat every piece immediately. Never did fully grasp that you have to wait until you're done to dig in :o)

Also, the kid loves suckers. Pretty much his favorite candy in addition to chocolate. But caramel wigs him out. Too stringy. He will devour a 3 Musketeers bar, but give him a Milky Way and it's no dice.

Sam & Daddy inspect the stash

Sucker time!

Sucker time in disguise!

Meme, Papa & Sam on the hay. Again with the distracted

We also took Sam to his first pumpkin patch this year. He was way more interested in the bounce house & the playhouse than the pumpkin patch, but at least he had fun.

He really loved riding in the barrel "train"

Oh, excuse me, the "Trash Can Choo-Choo". I stand corrected.

Can you see him?

Happy guy
I call this next little series of photos "Anatomy of a poop". I was just taking his picture and caught these and they make me laugh so hard. It's one of those things he'll probably tell his therapist someday, but what are moms for?! ;o)
Getting a feeling..

Oh, I have an audience..

Not sure I like that..

Let me just squat over here and do my business.

After that he was pretty happy, lol!

Peek-a-boo!
Blowing bubbles

Gotta love boys

Exploring

The pumpkin patch we went to is on someone's farm and Sam loved their dog, Baxter.

Daddy teaching Sam about a campfire

More petting the doggy

Checking out the pigs

Sam got it into his head that he wanted to pay to ride the pony. He changed his mind very quickly when he got near it.

Picking out the perfect pumpkin. (say that 3 times fast)

Such happy faces

On Halloween night we took Sam out on our street for the traditional trick or treating fun

First stop, neighbor Steve's!

Saying hi to Ms Debbie

Steve-o loaded Sam up!

Sam wasn't sure about the sucker with the "bug" in it

Then we went to see Mr Spider down the street. Sadly this is the best pic I got.

Daddy & Sam in Steve & Debbie's graveyard

He looks so little here!
Then we drove across town to see Uncle Sean

And Sam made himself right at home in the candy bowl
Just look at the beautiful boy!

Watching the 1960's Spiderman cartoon open on Daddy's phone. Sam can almost sing it!

The boys hanging out

And thus ends the candy fest!
