In any case, couple of little Sam fun facts to share. Over the past few weeks he's really learned the word "light" and uses it often and correctly! It started out because he was obsessed with ceiling fans, but since we would refer to the light when he would point he learned that word instead. I was a little concerned at first that he thought the fan was called "light" but he now points at every light in the house (& anywhere else we are) and says "ight"! We are very proud. He can turn lights off and on as well :o) He's also starting to learn the word "out" because he loves to stand and look out the window and I keep telling him that's "outside" so he's starting to bang on the window and say "out!" It's so cool to watch him learn :o) Guess that means he officially has 7 words that he knows well or at least a little. Mama, Dada, Light, Out, Up, That, and Cat (he seems to be saying cat sometimes when he's after one of them). I noticed today that he's started trying to add "what's" to the beginning of "that" because he kept pointing at his hamper and saying what sounded like "ought's at". He's soooo smart!!
Some other big news is that Sam graduated to the Toddler room at Daycare! This is big because he will now have all these activities to do everyday (crafts, playdoh, circle time, etc) and he will be napping in a little cot on the floor instead of a crib! He can also have a blanket and lovey to sleep with now which helped him take 2 one hour naps on Tuesday! (The longest nap he's ever had at daycare was 45 min and I think that's only happened twice).
Sam is also hitting a growth spurt. He's fully graduated to his 12 mth clothes now except for a couple pairs of pants and he's wearing a size FOUR shoe! Crazy.
I think that hits all the high points so I'll just say that we haven't posted a large number of pics since Memorial Day so there are quite a few!
On Memorial Weekend we went to Lake of the Ozarks to hang out with Nana, Papa, A. Misty, U. Eric & Cousin Isabella.
Sam's first boat ride

I love the way he's looking at Isabella in this picture :o) He was shy with her, but he was fascinated too.

Sam LOVES the windchime in our back oak tree. He would play with it for hours if Mommy & Daddy would stand there and hold him all day.

Someone was enjoying the leftovers from his very first big people meal
(see the post from a few days ago)
Sam's getting much better with his sippy cup. For a long time we could only get him to drink out of a straw.
Bogart the guardkitty.. don't let him fool you, he's much more vicious than any ol' guardDOG. Sam's house is in good paws
He loves these handles. Someday we'll have to start telling him no when he plays with these, but for now he can't hurt anything by playing with them.

I like this pic for 2 reasons.. You can see the front of his cute Cards outfit.. and you can see how he loves to carry the plastic "mail" from his house around in his mouth.
Sometimes he's an odd kid :o)

Squinty Sam in the adorable outfit Nana & Papa bought him in Mexico! As evidence of his growth spurt, this was HUGE on him only one week ago.

He's so fascinated with my toes for some reason. Must not be familiar with Monkey Toes. Judging by HIS toes, he will be.

So that's the big Sam update for today. Hope it makes up for the lack of them the past 2 days. We are going to try and get back to the post-a-day thing so keep logging on!
