Long time, no blog...

Well it's been forever since we really updated this other than with the occasional video! We apologize. Our only excuse is life. In any case, Sam is growing and changing more everyday. He's getting such a little personality, it's amazing to watch! He figured out how to crawl and is everywhere and into everything these days. He finally got 2 more teeth (his upper 2 front) so he now has 4 :o) He still loves to stand up, but since he learned to crawl he's not AS interested as he was. I guess that's natural though. When he's in his walker he can go, go, go! Especially at Grandma & Grandpa's house where it's smoother than home. He can also get himself into a sitting position from a crawl so I've walked in to get him in the morning several times now and he's been sitting there just talking to himself quietly :o) He's eating 3rd foods now and loves them. He's a big fan of Cheerios and Gerber puffs and has recently discovered that he loves the Gerber yogurt bites. We've taken him to the indoor pool 3 times now, I'm sure you all saw the video, and he LOVES it. I can't wait to take him to Nana & Papa's house at the lake this summer I think we're going to have so much fun! He's holding steady at about 20 pounds but he keeps getting taller so I think maybe he's gaining weight at about the same rate as he's gaining height so it evens out. He's currently transitioning from 9mth clothes to 12mth so I figure he'll be going to 18mth clothes right about the time he turns 1. He has his 9mth appointment in a couple of weeks (despite turning 9mths on May 7th) so we'll have more height/weight/development info then. For now, enjoy the new pics!

Went to KC for the weekend.. might have worn Sam out a bit... this is the way he fell asleep on the way home from Chanda's birthday party... LOVE the blanket in the mouth!

Nana & Papa came to visit and brought Sam his very first Easter basket! It was super cool and full of play tools, thus the saw in Sam's mouth.

The Easter basket also had a peep or two.. Mommy decided it was okay for Sam to sample a little bit... Nana picked the blue ones...

He wasn't terribly impressed, but he had a beautiful blue mustache for the rest of the day! :o)

Papa was sleepier than Sam apparently :o)

Went to Toys R Us but Sam was a little too sleepy to get excited about the toys... he looked kind of uncomfortable, but he was sleeping so good we didn't have the heart to move him!

Mommy decided to get some bubbles and see what Sam thought about them... That look on his face? Yeah that's pretty much the look he gave me the WHOLE TIME I was blowing bubbles. He just couldn't figure it out!

Our clean little boy.. The towel is a shark, but the teeth always flip up so it kind of ends up looking like a blue Statue of Liberty.. either way he's a cutie!

We had our 5 year anniversary on April 17th and both had the day off so we decided to have a little family day before our date that night. Luckily it was beautiful out so we got to take Sam to the park. This was only his second time in a swing and he kept getting distracted by the pretty girl swinging next to him. We are in so much trouble :o)

Getting ready to slide for the first time! He seemed to like it, but we only went once.. there was a line and we didn't want to hold up the other kiddos since Sam can't slide by himself

This marks the very first time Sam has sat in the grass and not screamed and cried. He hates the feel of it I guess. But that day he did good and he and Mommy checked out all the cool stuff about grass..

The second time we went swimming we decided to see if he'd like the floaty... he did. Check out the ripples all around him.. he was kicking his feet like crazy!
