Well Sam's 2nd Christmas has come and gone and I must say it was completely different than his 1st! He's so much bigger now and able to really get into it and enjoy it. It was so much fun! We never did get around to sending out Christmas cards this year so we're thinking we may do a "Happy New Year" card. We got to see all the family except Misty, Eric & Isabella thanks to a snowstorm that gave us a bit of a white Christmas. The first I can remember in a long time. Last night/Today we got several more inches. I can't remember seeing this much since I was in college and more is forecasted for later this week so it could get interesting. Hopefully it will be cleared off enough for us to make it up to the lake for Isabella's 2nd birthday and a late Christmas with them. It BETTER clear off, Aunt Addie's in charge of the cupcakes! Besides Christmas, Sam's had an eventful week. We took him to the doctor on Wednesday thinking he had an ear infection because he'd been messing with his ears, but it turns out he's just CUTTING 8 TEETH AT ONCE. Yeah. He's a happy kid. Actually he's much happier than one would think with that kind of action going on in his mouth, but still it's making for lots of whine! Also, today Momma gave Sam his very first haircut! We used Daddy's beard trimmer because he just needed a little trim. He did really good. We didn't get any pictures because Momma was cutting & Daddy was holding, but I did get nostalgic and save some of the hair. You heard me. Oh, one last thing.. Sam's becoming a big dancer. LOVES music (always has) and now dances to pretty much anything he hears. You can tell he really likes a song when he really gets into it. Lately he's been big on our DVDs of the 1st season of the Muppet Show. Here's a couple of links to YouTube videos I posted of him dancing:

Sam's 1st present of Xmas 2009. He wasn't sure about being allowed to tear the paper at first.

Yikes-o-rama Momma! But look at that cool vest, it's just like Grandpa's!!

Needless to say, Sam got a little more into the whole tearing paper thing as we went along

After he'd unwrapped all his gifts, we were cleaning up and all of a sudden he just ran over and jumped into the pile of wrapping paper. Too cute!

Look at my cool truck!!

Sam got his first taste of Daddy's favorite candy, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. He loved it and cried when he couldn't have more than 1

Sam's first White Christmas. This was actually taken on Christmas Eve, but we didn't get a whole lot more than this down here. (Check out the cool xmas tree Jason got me for the deck!)

Watching Sesame Street on Christmas morning. This cracked me up

Sam & Momma decided we needed to make Christmas cookies on Christmas Day

The kid loved putting on the sprinkles..

I mean LOVED putting on the sprinkles..

Seriously.

Daddy even got in on the fun

A few of Sam's creations pre-oven.

They didn't fare so well in the oven.. Momma forgot how much those things can spread out!

Sam opens his first gift with Nana & Papa
(though the gift is from Aunt Misty, Uncle Eric & Isabella)

Sam gets his first ride on his "pony" from Nana & Papa while he waited for Papa to get the base put together

Apparently it was taking too long so Sam decided to check out how things were going.
(for some reason I think he looks like me here)

"What's that you're doing Papa?"

"I think the screw goes right there"

"Here, let me help you"

"Here Papa, I think you need these"

Three generations stymied by a toy pony

Sam was on quality control

Hm, must not have gotten his way about something..

The inaugural ride!

Check out my cool shades from Aunt Misty! He put them on like this and refused to take them off or fix them. He was running around giggling. It was too cute :o)

I think Christmas '09 was a success!

This cowboy stuff is serious business

It's fun to hide under the pony too! I love the look he's giving Nana here (she's just out of frame)

Sam got a "popcorn popper" from Momma & Daddy for Xmas and the other day he wore a path between his bedroom and the front door with it. He prefers to pull it instead of push, and he had so much fun!

My busy little boy

We took Sam to Lambert's for the first time the other night because it just sounded good. This is how every trip to Lambert's should end.. pants-less with a balloon in your hand.

That is, until you let go of the balloon...

..and it ends up here.
Tragic. Seriously. I thought we were going to have to drive to Ozark for a new one.

This is what we woke up to this morning. This pic was taken at about 10am and it snowed the rest of the day. Pretty sure it's still spitting flurries right now at 11pm.

Look at the snow on that cooler!

If you look REAAALLYY close, you can see the Blue Jay.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
