Busy, Busy, Busy!

So yeah, it's been FOREVER since we've seriously updated this blog. We apologize. Between the holidays, every stinking one of us getting sick TWICE (well, I guess Jason only got sick once), and general life stuff we've been too out of it to even think much about this. I'll try to catch you all up...

Sam's first Christmas was great and pretty eventful. We had Christmas with G&G Ferber on the Sunday before then headed for Sikeston to spend a few days with Nana & Papa, Aunt Misty, Uncle Eric & Cousin Isabella. Sadly, Nana & Papa both got sick while we were there so we couldn't all hang out like we really wanted to, but Sam got some quality time with everybody anyway so I guess that's what counts the most.
After we got home, Sam got the same stomach bug as Nana & Papa and was pretty miserable for two days, but managed to get better just in time for Ferber Friend Christmas. Sam was a great kid for his first party at home. He went to bed at about his normal time and only woke up once (& that was Momma's fault anyway). Slept right through all the loud people playing the Wii :o) What a trooper! The next day Daddy got sick with the stomach bug and then that Tuesday, Mommy caught it!! Which of course made for a pretty crummy New Year's! Our New Year's Eve went like this: Mommy spent the whole day miserable on the couch, but stayed up late determined to watch the year roll over. Sam went to bed at normal time and Daddy crashed out at about 10:30pm because his stomach bug lasted about 5 days (at least mine & Sam's only stuck around for about 2). Exciting times in the Ferber household. To all those who gave us crap about not coming to KC for NYE, TRUST ME, we would rather have been up there with you guys and not hovered around the toilet!
The next Monday, Sam headed to daycare for the very first time. It was traumatic for Mommy & Daddy to say the least. Of course, he IMMEDIATELY caught a cold from some kid in his room. That turned into Bronchiolitis and an ear infection and he's been sick ever since. It was so bad we had to keep him out of daycare this week. It really sucks to pay for something when he's not going. Yesterday and today he's been much better so he'll be going back to the germ pit on Monday. He's on Immoxicillin (sp?) and breathing treatments with Albuterol. Poor little guy is having it rough. To top it off, Mommy got a massive sinus infection and a touch of Bronchitis at the same time. Daddy seems to have dodged the bullet this time... knock on wood.
Big news also, Sam rolled over for the first time today! He's now done it several times. He's rolled over before, but accidentally. This was the first time it was a purposeful "You've put me on my belly and I don't like it therefore I shall roll over and thwart your evil plan!" Good job Sammy!!!
Oh, I almost forgot! Sam can sit up all by himself now! He still falls over on occasion, but he's getting really good at being independant! :o)
Despite being sick, we went up to the Lake of the Ozarks last weekend for Cousin Isabella's 1st birthday party. Can't believe it's been a whole year! She's getting so big! Mommy made the cakes and cousin Isabella did a good job eating hers up.
Last Sunday we finally had Christmas with Lori, Hailey & Jenna. It was pretty funny watching Jenna try to love on Sam. He got so annoyed but he put up with it pretty good. It was fun :o)

I think that catches you up. Now you see why it's been a while between posts (so hush Laney!). Anywho, enjoy the new pics!

Sam gets himself into the oddest positions
Sam likes to pet Daddy's beard. Mommy thinks it's soooo cute! :o)s
Mommy & Daddy bought Sam a gift that just keeps on giving for Christmas. It plays music and shoots balls out the top that are supposed to then fall back down and roll back into the shoot to be shot out again. Sam loves it. Trouble is, most of the time, the balls riquocet off the side and go flying around the room. Keeps Mommy & Daddy (& the cats!) busy chasing after them!
Love the look on Sam's face in this one. Like, "What the heck did you get me Grandma?!"
Concentrating on driving the car... and using Grandma's thumb as a gearshift
Hello!
Wearing Grandpa Ferber's new hat. Aren't I stylish... in a Fargo sort of way?
Worn out after the first orgy of greed
Chaos at Nana & Papa's... think they got enough toys for the kiddos?! Look at all that stuff!!
Cousin Isabella flirting with her Uncle Jason
Nana & Sam. Nana wasn't feeling too hot here.
Daddy & Sam on Christmas morning. Check out the adorable Santa outfit Nana bought him!
Santa Baby
Sam & Momma. Somehow he managed to make himself bleed while we were trying to take pictures! Check out the side of his nose (to your left in the pic)
Papa & Sam playing. They had soooo much fun together once Sam finally warmed up to Papa. It takes him a while for some reason, but once he does he really loves him.
My beautiful boy
Look Uncle Dale & Aunt Susan! I finally fit into the Star Wars onesie you sent when I was born! How cool am I?!?!
Sam rockin' his reindeer suit Nana bought him for Christmas. This was his party attire for Ferber Friend Christmas. So stinkin' cute!
The best shot I could get of the whole thing. He hadn't mastered sitting up totally yet and kept falling over, but you get the idea.
Daddy & Sam playing with the toy Aunt Misty, Uncle Eric & Isabella got Sam for Christmas. Look how good I can stand up!
Hm, what's this? Is it a COW?? Does it MOOOO??? I LOVE THAT!
(Sam loves the mooo sound on his toys that feature cows)
First time in my highchair, what a big boy!! (Check out the bib Uncle Sean, are you proud?)
Trying Sweet Potatoes for the very first time (Sam's first solid food other than Rice Cereal). He LOVED them, but then got a little rash on his tummy so we thought he might not be ready for it just yet and haven't fed him anything but cereal since. We're going to try again in a couple of days.
Mmmm, I love me some sweet taters!
First time using his sippy cup. A little early but he seemed to do okay. It'll be a little while before he really needs to use it.
Sam happily playing with his Taggies ball from Uncle Mark & Aunt Karen. He loves that thing!
Check out my new Thomas the Tank Engine blanket from Kaye & Duke!! How cool is this?!?! Kaye made it! Thanks Kaye, you rock!!!
The first time he saw it he reached for it. He loves anything with red & blue. What can I say, I think we have a little Superman in the making.
Playing with Papa on Cousin Isabella's birthday (well, the day after but who's counting?)
Cousin Isabella decided to introduce herself. This series of pics cracks me UP! Check out Sam's face as he gets progressively more annoyed. Too funny!

This is my fave!

Papa using Sam as an excuse to play with toys ;o) They had so much fun!
The big cake. Rubber duckies all afloat
Aunt Misty giving Cousin Isabella her smash cake.
She wasn't too sure at first...
But she figured it out! I think that cake is officially toast
Happy Birthday Isaboo!!
Jenna giving Sam a smackaroo!
I love this pic! Aren't they sweet?!
Jenna really, REALLY wanted to hold Sam all the time.
Sam & Aunt Lori
Sam doing his breathing treatments. One of the rare times he's slept during them. He usually fights and cries the whole time. Looks a little freaky, no?
Daddy & Sam doing breathing treatments

Not a great pic to end on, but it's the last one I had. Hope that gives you all your Sam fix for a while. We plan to update the site more often now that holiday craziness is over and we're all starting to feel better finally! See ya soon!
