Goings on

First of all we wanted to say... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM/GRANDMA TO GRANDMA B! Alrighty, on to the update...
Things have been pretty busy this past week. Jason & Lee got a serious start on boxing in the new media closet (our old back door) and tearing out the window in the bar to install the sliding glass door so our house has been a bit of a construction zone for the past several days. I included a couple of non-Sammy pics below to show some of the progress although it's farther along now.
Sam's growing and changing everyday. He's so much fun and he smiles a lot now. Though it seems whenever mommy gets out the camera she only manages to catch one here or there. We were worried about how he'd do with all the construction work in the house, but he's been great. Mommy took Sam to his very first football game on Saturday (it was Evangel's homecoming), but it was so hot and miserable that she forgot to take any pictures. Oh well! I took a couple of him in his stylin' outfit before we left so I guess that'll have to do. Sam seems to have a real love of music and always seems happier when some is playing. That makes his daddy and mommy very happy! He's also getting better about enjoying books and seems to really like Goodnight Moon (thanks Bob & Judy!!), it soothes him to near sleep sometimes. Of course that may also have something to do with the quiet way mommy reads it, but whatever. His FAVORITE thing right now is his Fisher Price musical farm kick board (don't know what it's really called) from cousin Greg, Amy & Lucy. He just kicks and kicks at that thing. He's not fond of the setting that doesn't play music, but whenever either of the music settings is on, he will go to town for up to a half hour (trust me, in baby time that's an eternity)! We know he's really figured out how it works because sometimes he'll kick it and listen to the music play until it stops and then he'll kick again to set it off and then just sit and listen. It's so cute! Then, of course he gets excited and just kicks up a storm. We love it! Well, that's the update for now. Enjoy all the new pics! :o)

Construction begins.. Lee & Jason uncovered some lovely rot directly under the window after this piece of siding was removed.

The hole after they finished all the demo. Our new sliding glass door will go there and the area outside of the old door to the right will be boxed in for a media cabinet. The hole is now covered with plywood and tar paper until it can be completed and the framing for the closet has begun. By the way, the wall is not bowed like it appears. Must be the angle of the picture.
Sam & Mommy... 11 pictures and this is the best we could get. Boy it's hard to pose with a 2 month old! Notice the spitup on his mouth.. nice!
LOVE this one!
Sammy in his cool outfit from Steve & Debbie before the football game. He was NOT happy about the sunglasses!
Look at those eyes!! Seriously are they not the most beautiful eyes ever?!
Sammy getting down on the farm!
Sam's mischiveious look
Chillin' in my swing with my sleepy eyes on.
Family pic.. Mommy realized we only had ever taken one and that was on the day he was born so she decided we needed another. Good lawd does mommy need to dye her hair!
